Princeton University (A.B., Cum Laude, Politics, 1971)

I have been in the practice of law for 49 years. I began practicing in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1974. In 1976, I moved to Orange County, California, where I have continuously resided. In addition to being a member of both the Minnesota and California bars, in 1978, I was also admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. The entirety of my law practice has been devoted solely to Bankruptcy, Debtor/Creditor Workouts, Real Estate, and Corporate Formation law. In addition to the above, I also hold a California Community College Teaching Certificate, and, at various times, have taught Real Estate and Business' Law at Orange Coast, Cerritos, and Saddleback colleges. Over the years, I have also written legal articles for various magazines, including Modern Horse Breeding. But just as important as my legal background and credentials is my philosophy concerning the law and the legal profession. I try never to forget that the person or persons sitting next to, or across from, me is not just a client, he or she is also a human being, with hopes, concerns, feelings, and needs. They have come to me because they need guidance, advice and/or assistance. And, yes, sometimes they just need a shoulder to cry on. In so doing, they are putting their trust in, and reliance on, me in so doing, they are entitled not only to my full attention but to my respect. I try never to forget that fact. And so, I try, to the best of my ability, to treat them as I would wish to be treated if the situation was reversed. They are entitled to, and owed, nothing less.
